Abstract

The Article is devoted to the analysis of the values of Russians in modern science, as well as the specifics of their study in the virtual space. The purpose of the article is to study the approaches existing in Russian political science and the study of the value basis of modern Russians in the context of digitalization. The text provides an overview of a number of studies conducted by Russian scientists over the past five years on the subject of Russian values. The influence of digital imperialism on the formation of values is considered. As an example of a conductor of traditional and european values, the authors present the results of an original study of YouTube and Telegram channels (using a parser written in Python, a text array of these resources was extracted and a corpus was created that formed the empirical base of the study; a frequency analysis of the occurrence of words was performed; the search was carried out through a specially created dictionary of value words that they are markers of general categories of these types of values). Conclusions are drawing about the prospects for studying the formation and transformation of values in the position of increasing the influence of the digital space.
