AVOIDANCE AS A FORM OF BEHAVIOR OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of avoidance among university students. The article reveals theoretical approaches to the definition of social behavior of modern students. The issues of student activity, involvement and socialization at universities are touched upon. The features of avoidance as a form of social behavior of students are determined. The main strategic forms of evasion among students are formulated. Based on the interpretation of the behavior of Russian students in modern science, the definition of social avoidance as purposeful avoidance of student activities is formulated. To identify the characteristics of avoidance as a form of behavior of modern Russian students, the authors conducted a comprehensive study based on several methods of applied political and sociological analysis. The empirical basis of the study was the results of 12 focus groups, 21 expert interviews and a social experiment. The study group included 4 university students of the consortium "Upper Volga - the territory of innovation". The experts were employees of university administrations and teachers, representatives of public and student organizations who work directly with young people within the framework of the main activities of their organizations. According to the results of the study, the tasks were solved to identify the strategies and tactics of evasion used by students, the specifics of the perception of forms of evasion in various activities (academic and extracurricular) and the consequences of their use.
